Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Fansona collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use our website and platform.
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy applies to the Fansona website (fansona.art), the Fansona application, and related services (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by 〔COMPANY LEGAL NAME〕, 〔COMPANY REGISTRATION No. (RCS / SIREN)〕, with its registered office at 〔REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS〕, France (“Fansona”, “we”, “us” or “our”), which acts as the data controller for the personal data described below.
By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Fansona is intended only for users aged 18 or older.
1. Information we collect
a. Information you provide
- Account information — such as your name, email address, and the credentials used to sign in (authentication is handled by our identity provider).
- Profile and workspace data — the personas, settings, captions, schedules and other content you create or upload to the Service.
- Communications — information you send us when you contact support or otherwise correspond with us.
- Billing information — if you purchase a paid plan, billing details are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
b. Information from connected platforms
When you choose to connect a third-party account (for example a Facebook Page, an Instagram professional account, or an X account), you authorize that platform to share certain information with us, limited to the permissions you grant. Depending on the platform and the features you enable, this may include:
- Account and profile information — such as account ID, username, profile name, profile picture and the list of Pages or professional accounts you manage and authorize.
- Content — media and posts associated with the connected account that are needed to schedule, publish, preview or manage your content.
- Insights and metrics — aggregated statistics such as reach, impressions, follower counts and engagement, used to show you analytics.
- Comments and messages — where you enable inbox features and grant the relevant permissions, the comments and direct messages needed to display and respond to them within the Service.
- Access tokens — the tokens issued by the platform so we can perform the actions you request on your behalf. These are stored securely and used only for that purpose.
We request only the permissions required for the features you use, and you can review or revoke a platform connection at any time from the Service or from the platform’s own settings.
c. Information collected automatically
- Log and device data — such as IP address, browser type, device and operating system, pages viewed, and timestamps, collected to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. See Cookies below.
- Link-in-bio analytics — when a visitor opens a Fansona bio link, we record first-party, privacy-friendly click and referral data (e.g. timestamp, approximate location derived from IP, and referring source). We do not embed third-party advertising trackers in bio links.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate, maintain and improve the Service;
- create and manage your personas, and schedule, publish and manage content on the accounts you connect, at your request;
- display your inbox (comments and messages) and analytics, and let you respond to your audience;
- authenticate you and keep your account secure;
- provide customer support and respond to your requests and inquiries;
- detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse, security incidents and violations of our Terms; and
- comply with our legal obligations.
3. How we use platform (Meta) data
Our use of information received from the Meta platforms (Facebook/Instagram), and from any other platform, complies with that platform’s developer terms and policies, including the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies. In particular:
- we use platform data only to provide and improve the features you request within the Service;
- we do not sell platform data, and we do not use it for advertising or to build advertising profiles;
- we do not transfer platform data to data brokers or use it for any purpose not described in this Policy; and
- we retain platform data only as long as needed to provide the Service, and we delete it when you disconnect the account or request deletion (see Data Deletion).
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you have signed up for.
- Consent — when you connect a platform account or grant specific permissions; you may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain and improve the Service and prevent abuse, where not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers (sub-processors) — vendors who host our infrastructure, send transactional email, process payments, or provide security and analytics, acting on our instructions and under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Connected platforms — when you publish or manage content, the necessary data is sent to the platform you connected (e.g. Meta, X) to carry out your request.
- Legal and safety — where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Fansona, our users or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
6. International data transfers
We are based in France. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA/UK (for example to a sub-processor), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
7. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When you delete content, disconnect a platform, or close your account, we delete or anonymize the associated personal data within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days), except where we must retain it by law. See Data Deletion.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls and secure storage of access tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, update, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Where the GDPR applies, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@fansona.art. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
10. Data deletion
You can disconnect any platform account at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data. For step-by-step instructions, see our Data Deletion page.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service, and we may use limited functional or analytics cookies to understand and improve usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Service from working.
12. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can delete it.
13. Third-party links and services
The Service may link to or integrate with third-party websites and platforms that have their own privacy practices. This Policy does not cover those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
